The dual 1.5" TC flange allows the pickup tube to attach to the kettle and have a valve or other 1.5" TC accessory attached to the outside. They use 5/8" tubing which flows up to 4x better than their competitors 1/2" size. Recommend Uses: Boil Kettle - Create a whirlpool inside your kettle so hop material collects in the center of the lower stepped section. The side pickup will drain clear wort from the side, above the stepped bottom, avoiding the hop and trub material which has settled. The wood is ground to flour with the lignin in the cells, then fused in the absence of any binding agent.The tablets are then roasted at in ovens at various schedules to develop a range of flavor profiles. Using a roasted "right through" approach, the tablets have an even and consistent extraction.Due to this process, the density of the Moxon Oak Tablets is roughly double that of Oak Chips, doubling the weight allowed in a given space, as well as removing any air (or moisture) from the product. Spike Brewing's TC-100 temp control system will manage both cooling and heating of your FLEX. The digital controller's temp probe inserts into the included thermowell that attaches to the secondary port of the FLEX. Also included is a specially fitted neoprene jacket which features reinforced port holes to reduce the chance of ripping during install. Lastly, (and maybe the coolest item) is Spike Brewing's special insulated tubing. This greatly reduces tube cooling losses and will prevent your cooling lines from sweating all over your floor during the dog days of Summer! Cooling:When the temp in the FLEX rises above the set point of the controller, it will turn on the pump submerged in your cold water reservoir (bucket of ice water, aquarium, glycol chiller, DIY AC chiller, etc).
