  • Storage Solution for pH / ORP Electrodes - Milwaukee MA9015 - 230ml

    Storage Solution for pH / ORP Electrodes - Milwaukee MA9015 - 230ml

    2 in stock

MA9015 is a lab grade electrode storage solution prepared with premium chemicals to improve the performance and extend the life of your pH and ORP electrodes, testers and pens. To ensure a quick response and free-flowing liquid junction, the sensing element and reference junction must not be allowed to dry out. Properly storing your pH electrode in a solution keeps the glass membrane well hydrated which maintains proper function and provides accurate readings. MA9015 also helps keep the junction in your pH and ORP electrode flowing which is critical for fast results.  To clean your pH or ORP electrode use MA9016 Cleaning Solution in conjunction with MA9015 Storage Solution. In general, and depending on the frequency of use and the type of application, soak your pH or ORP electrode once per week in MA9016 Cleaning Solution for about 15 minutes. After soaking, remove the electrode, rinse with Distilled Water and put MA9015 Storage Solution in the probe cap before storage. This will keep your pH or ORP sensor hydrated and ready for the next use. Design Features Fundamental for the correct use of electrodes and for obtaining the most accurate and reproducible readings. • TROPIC THUNDER Tropical Flavor Enhancer

    TROPIC THUNDER Tropical Flavor Enhancer

    Out of stock

Unique amino acid blend activates Ehrlich pathway causing beer and wine yeast to produce tropical flavors Contributes complexity to beer styles like Hazys where tropical flavors are desired. Pairs perfectly with CellarScience HAZY Yeast Contributes tropical complexity to Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier wines when used in conjunction with CellarScience CITRUS Wine Yeast Enhance tropical flavors in your beer or wine with CellarScience Tropic Thunder. By changing the amino acid mix you feed your yeast you can influence the final flavors yeast produce. To understand why, we have to first explain the Ehrlich pathway which was discovered over 100 years ago by German Biochemist Felix Ehrlich. Yeast absorbs and breaks down a specific set of amino acids very slowly over the course of fermentation. The yeast cells incorporate the amino group into their cell structure, leaving an alpha-keto acid. This acid is turned into fusel alcohol by the yeast and then returned back out into the wort. This production of fusel alcohols via the breakdown of specific amino acids is called the Ehrlich Pathway. FOR BEERFusel alcohol may scare you as a brewer... we get it, you are trained to avoid these! But certain fusel alcohols actually have a really positive effect on the final beer flavor. The idea behind CellarScience Tropic Thunder is we have selected specific amino acids that when fed to your yeast will result in the production of a small amount of fusel alcohols that contribute to the tropical flavors of mango, pineapple, and coconut. Tropic Thunder nutrient is often used to help create complexity in hazy IPA, but feel free to use it in any style where tropical flavors would be welcome—you are only limited by your imagination! FOR WINETropic Thunder is perfect for Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and other select styles where tropical fruit flavors are part of your vision. In addition to selecting a thiol releasing yeast strain such as CellarScience CITRUS, Tropic Thunder can help bring complimentary tropical fusel flavors via the Ehrlich pathway. As a part of the overall mix, along with thiols and terpenes, the complexity of Sauvignon Blanc or Viognier is enhanced. Tropic Thunder can also be used in select Chardonnays or any white wines where tropical mango and pineapple flavors are desired. When added at the rate of 0.6 to 2 grams per gallon, Tropic Thunder contributes 3 to 12 ppm of YAN. When using CellarScience FermFed or FermFed DAP Free nutrient blends to power your fermentation, we recommend adding Tropic Thunder on top of these additions. USEFor beer or white wine add 0.6 to 2 gram per gallon (0.15 to 0.5 grams per liter) directly into the fermenter at the start of fermentation. Perform bench trials to determine optimal usage or start with a dosage of 1.2 g per gal (0.3 g per liter) and adjust as needed on future batches.

NukaTap Mini Beer Faucet | Matte Black | Forward Sealing

    7 in stock

Mini Design - Ideal Flow Rate for Small SystemsMost conventional beer taps are designed with 10mm diameter nozzle/spout so you can pour a pint in just over 10 seconds. This type of flow rate is great for high turnover bars and commercial venues but this high flow rate requirement is not necessary or desirable for all applications.  For compact portable systems, or for home brew draft systems a slower flow rate is easier to control the flow and further reduces foaming issues due to the low liquid volume stored in the tap body.  This NukaTap mini is also more ideal for pouring smaller doses. For example cocktails where 5-8 oz of liquid is dispensed is difficult to control with a high flow rate tap. For portable systems, the NukaTap Mini with the Flow Control Ball Lock QD & Duotight Adapter assembly is small enough to literally put in your pocket, making it ideal for mini keg setups that you want to be portable or that you want to easily fit inside a domestic fridge where space is tight. Forward SealingForward sealing taps are absolutely the way to go when it comes to beer taps. Old legacy taps still exist in the industry that are simply poorly designed. The issue with rear sealing taps is that beer dries up on the tap piston. This is not sanitary and as more and more beer dries up in these components the tap can almost glue completely shut causing damaged seals or broken handles (this is particularly the case if it's left for some time to dry out with beer inside).  These older legacy designs still exist probably due to poor education. The forward sealing designs do not have this problem and the tap drains out completely with no beer drying up on the mechanical moving parts in the same way. This makes the tap more sanitary and reduces maintenance. In many instances the price is similar so there is no reason to use a poorly designed rear sealing tap. All NukaTap faucets are forward sealing. Laminar FlowJust like the NukaTap SS and NukaTap FC, the NukaTap Mini has been designed with laminar flow in mind. Laminar flow is critical for a beer tap as it means you will pour the beer with minimal foaming and a substantial reduction in wastage. Think about how many times a beer tap opens and closes in its lifetime. 1,000 or maybe 10,000 times?  Laminar flow saves wasted beer in excessive foam and the better laminar flow easily pays for itself in a reduction in lost beer. To use poorer designed taps is literally like flushing money down the sink. Extensive modeling has been done on the NukaTap design to improve laminar flow. Integrated Seals That Are Indestructible and More SanitaryUnlike other designs the NukaTap Mini body is made from POK making it strong, robust and able to be autoclaved. The seals are also over-molded from Santoprene® making them hard wearing so they will literally last for the lifetime of the tap without the need for replacement. Santoprene® and POK both have excellent resistance to chemicals such as caustic soda, peroxide, phosphoric acid, lactic acid, citric acid, acetic acid, and all common chemicals sold and used in the beverage industry. The seals internally are over-molded meaning no fissures or cracks exist for bacteria, crud or yeast to hide. Superior First Pour Foam Due to Low Thermal Mass and ConductivityFirst pour foam is an issue caused by a warm tap body. For most taps to pour well it's important to dispense enough beer to cool the tap body down before the tap will pour well.  In addition to this the conductivity of the tab body also makes this worse so insulative materials simply work better than conductive materials. The NukaTap mini not only has very low thermal mass but is also highly insulative being made mostly from Santoprene® and POK. The combination of these two factors in conjunction with superior laminar flow makes for the lowest "first pour foam" effect out of any tap ever produced. Long Shank AlternativeMost conventional beer taps require a large 3/4" hole to be drilled through the wall of your refrigerator, keezer, or wall. Traditional long shanks also generally have a large volume of liquid that sits inside the wall unrefrigerated which is not ideal. This new long shank alternative is designed to suit any wall thickness and greatly reduces the stagnant beer sitting in the shank itself. For walls up to 2.7" thick, these wall mount shank kits include three screws, however if the wall is thicker, you can also use 6 small wood screws or something similar and attach three screws from the front and 3 from the back allowing you to go into any wall type. Another advantage of this new design is the tap will never accidentally rotate. Typically, other long shank beer taps rely on the hex nut on the shank to be done up tight enough to prevent rotation but if the wall compresses (often the case with foam walls) the tap is allowed to rotate. This new design has three fixing points making it impossible for the tap to rotate accidentally as the interlocking teeth behind the collet allow you to set the angle and then do up the collet to fix the tap permanently in that position.

Limited inventory available in store.  Please allow additional time for processing. BrewBuilt's T.C. kettles were designed to keep pace with the ever-evolving world of brewing technology. The appetite for tri-clamp fittings continues to grow in the homebrewing market as T.C. fermenters and pumps become more affordable and widely available. Tri-clamp fittings, also known as Tri-clover, allow you to make a sanitary connection that is free of nooks and crannies for contaminants to take hold. They are much easier to break down for cleaning compared to threaded connections, and they don’t require Teflon tape to make a watertight seal. T.C. fittings and accessories also give you the distinct advantage of being able to clean in place (CIP), so you don’t need to break down your entire system after every brew day. The base model comes without fittings so you can add whatever tri-clamp accessories best suit your needs. Also available with a Ball Valve or Butterfly Valve hardware pack. These days homebrewers have a lot of strong choices when it comes to their kettle purchase. BrewBuilt has adopted a modern feature set designed to make the brew day easier. Silicone handle and lid grips help prevent burns. Etched internal volume markings make filling the kettle for mash or boil simple. Welded valve and thermometer ports are leak-free and never require maintenance--no more discovering worn gaskets on brew day. Altus™ has massive spicy, dank, and resinous aromas that lend to soft tangerine and herbal, grassy notes. Booming with high alpha and oil content, Altus™ is the perfect dual-purpose flavor-forward bittering hop and has changed the way we typically look at high alpha varieties. From a Mexican Lager all the way up the pike to a triple IPA, Altus™ can repurpose itself in many recipes for those who dare to explore the creative potentials behind this variety. Amburana (Amburana cearensis) is also known as Brazilian oak, named after the country from which the majority of Amburana trees are grown. It is a wood commonly associated with the aging of a Brazilian spirit, Cachaça, a sugarcane spirit similar to rum. Amburana tends to reduce acidity in a beverage, highlighting more beverage flavor while contributing sweet and savory flavors of gingerbread and vanilla. Herbal notes of thyme can also be detected. Suggested Application: 1 stick per 3 gallons. Spirals may be snapped into smaller portions to achieve desired flavor intensity. The spiral shape achieves maximim accelerated extraction time. Place directly into wine, beer, or spirit. Amburana flavor is fully extracted in 6 weeks. Withdraw sooner for milder taste.  Toast: Light Toast Dimensions: 1" x 8"

How to use the Whirlpool Arm At the end of the boil ensure that the pump and recirculation valve are both switched off. Connect the Whirlpool Arm to the recirculation pipework so that the other end sits below the surface of the wort. Ensure the wort temperature is below 99°C (210°F) or at your proposed whirlpool temperature, then switch on the pump and slowly open the valve to start recirculating the wort. Add your whirlpool hops and recirculate as per your recipe. When complete, switch the pump off and carefully remove the whirlpool arm using the black silicone handle (caution: the handle may be hot) and then connect your counterflow wort chiller to complete the chilling process according to your G40 or G70 instructions. CellarScience® BERLIN Dry Yeast

    Out of stock

A popular yeast strain with a Berlin lineage that is famous for producing amazing lagers with soft malt character and balanced esters.  Every batch is PCR tested to ensure contamination free yeast.  Dosage:Two sachets are enough to treat a 5–6 gallon batch. When calculating for larger batches, use at a rate of 2.5–4 grams per gallon of wort. We recommend rounding up by one full sachet rather than measuring out the yeast exactly. Direct Pitch or Rehydrate:BERLIN yeast can be direct pitched with great results by sprinkling it onto the surface of the wort in your fermenter. However, proper hydration helps ensure a healthy fermentation and is especially recommended for beer with a starting gravity above 15°P (1.061 SG). To hydrate yeast, first sanitize the yeast pack and a pair of scissors. Boil tap water to sterilize and then cool to 85-95°F (29-35°C). Use 10 grams (0.35 oz) of water per gram of yeast. Sprinkle the yeast onto the water, allow the slurry to stand undisturbed for 20 minutes, and then swirl. Use small amounts of wort to adjust the temperature of the slurry to within 10°F (6°C) of the wort temp before pitching. Ferment between 54-62°F (12-17°C). Get the exact tension you need with your BrewZilla or DigiBoil with KegLand's Stainless Steel Adjustable Clamp Set. Permanently replace the standard lid clamps and adjust the tension to your needs. These clamps are only intended for use with the metal Distillation Lid or Boiler Extension Kits. If you are having trouble getting the correct tension to form a good seal with those accessories, these adjustable clamps can help you dial in the fit. They should never be used with the standard glass lid. Compatible with 35L and 65L BrewZillas (Gen 3 / Gen 4), DigiBoils (Gen 1 / Gen 2), and Boiler Extensions. Installation Instructions: You will need a pair of bolt cutters or tin snips to cut the standard clamp off. (Please see product photos for optimum cut location). Remove the nut and bolt and thread it through the clamp. Ensure that the grooved part is facing outwards (photo for reference). If you do not have the grooved part facing outwards, the clamp will be blocked by the round lip of the boiler. Loosen the bolts and spin the clamp up or down to adjust the tension. Use the nuts to lock the desired tension. It is always best to start looser than you think, then adjust tighter. Warning: Do not use the adjustable clamps with a glass lid, the clamps are only designed for distillation lids or other metal accessories.

    Fermentis SafBrew™ BR-8

    Out of stock

SafBrew™ BR-8 is the first Brettanomyces bruxellensis yeast available to brewers in a dry micro granular format. It offers all the flavor benefits of ‘wild’ Brett yeast, but with more control and reliability, eliminating the risk of over-carbonation and gushing after bottling. Selected specifically for secondary fermentation in bottles or casks, SafBrew™ BR-8 produces phenolic compounds that create a distinctive finishing touch which evolves over time as the beer is aged, with funkier notes (barnyard, horse, leather…) nicely balanced by refreshing, fruity notes. SAFBREW™ BR-8 SENSORY PROFILE SafBrew™ BR-8 produces phenolic compounds that create a distinctive finishing touch which evolves over time as the beer is aged, with funkier notes (barnyard, horse, leather…) nicely balanced by refreshing, fruity notes. SAFBREW™ BR-8 TECHNICAL FEATURES Dosage/Temperature Optimal fermentation temperature 15°C – 25°C (59°F – 77°F).  Instructions of use: Rehydratation:  SafBrew™ BR-8 should not be rehydrated directly in the beer. Sprinkle the yeast in minimum 10 times its weight of sterile water at a temperature of 25°C to 29°C (77°F to 84.2°F). Leave to rest 15 to 30 minutes. Gently stir until obtaining a yeast cream. Usage: Add 5 to 10 grams of sugar per liter of beer (0.67 to 1.34 oz of sugar per gal of beer) to obtain an additional saturation of 2.5 to 5.0 g/L of CO2  (0.33 to 0.67 oz/gal of CO2). Pitch the sweetened beer at fermentation temperature with the rehydrated yeast. Carbonation will be achieved in 1 to 3 months of maturation. *At the end of refermentation, the beer can be cooled down and will gain in roundness after 2 to 3 weeks.*Carbonation at lower end temperatures (e.g. 15°C / 59°F) can take over 3 months.
