Spike+ Pickup Tube - Shorty
The Spike+ shorty pickup is specially designed to work with Spike Brewing's Spike+ line of kettles. The dual 1.5" TC flange allows the pickup tube to attach to the kettle and have a valve or other 1.5" TC accessory attached to the outside. They use 5/8" tubing which flows up to 4x better than their competitors 1/2" size. Carb Stone
If you didn't already know the Spike Conical is a unitank! This means it is designed to handle pressures up to 15psi. This capability allows you to add 15psi of pressure needed to carbonate your beer before transferring to your keg. This will reduce carbonation times from upwards of a week down to less than 24hrs. Spike Brewing's carb stone is designed to attach to the outside of the racking port butterfly valve. This means the carb stone can be installed when you need it and won't be sitting inside the tank during the entire fermentation process. This eliminates the chance for the stone to become clogged. It also has a protective stainless housing which prevents damaging the very brittle 'stone'. 3/8" x 1/4" BSP reducing bushing made from 304 stainless steel. BSP vs. BSPPBSP (or BSPT) fittings have a tapered thread and require teflon tape to form a seal between the male and female fitting. BSP fittings are generally intended to be used with their counterpart of the same thread type. ONLY 1/2" and 3/4" BSP fittings are compatible with US-standard NPT fittings of the same size. BSPP fittings, on the other hand, have a straight thread, require a gasket seated inside the female fitting to form a seal, and are not compatible with NPT.

Pickup Tube - Side
Spike Brewing's special 5/8" pickup tube flows up to 4x better than their competitors 1/2" size. These 5/8" tubes work perfectly with their full port valves which have a 5/8" flow diameter; no flow restriction. Spike Brewing's proprietary fittings uses quick connect technology. The quick connect fitting simply hand screws into the kettle and the pickup tube easily pushes in/pulls out; no tools needed. 2" TC Butterfly Valve
Spike Brewing conicals come equipped with this 100% sanitary 2” TC butterfly valve. This valve has a squeeze locking/trigger handle that allows for 180 degrees of motion and 13 locking positions.The butterfly valve is the preferred valve for the cold side of brewing instead of ball valves. These butterfly valves have no pockets or crevices for bacteria to hide in. Ball valves can trap liquid between the seals in the internal ball when opening and closing the valve.The handle is a special 'shorty' style which keeps a compact design.
