2" TC Sight Glass
The Spike Brewing engineers have totally redesigned the 2" TC sight glass from the ground up! Standard sight glasses use 4 long bolts that need to be tightened in a criss-cross pattern to get even pressure to avoid leaks. Their new design is made up of only 5 parts compared to 26 parts in a standard sight glass. No tools are required to assemble or disassemble; simply twist the knurled end cap off. The glass is also protected by the stainless guard which protects the glass from even the clumsiest brewer. The sight glass allows for direct attachment to the bottom port of our conicals. The sight glass allows for monitoring flow, color and clarity. A sight glass is also helpful when collecting yeast. Racking Arm
Another cool product the Spike Brewing engineers and in-house welders developed is their USA made racking arm. This racking arm provides 6" of total travel allowing you to draw clear wort even with the hoppiest of beers.The racking arm also incorporates a position indicator that is welded on so the orientation of the racking arm can easily be seen from the outside of the sealed conical (especially useful in closed pressure transfers). 4" Clear TC Cap
Probably the coolest add-on for the Spike Brewing conical line! There heard many brewers who have switched from clear carboys to stainless and they only have one complaint; I can't see my beer fermenting any more! Brewers are curious by nature and we're not ones to stop that curiosity so here is our solution to that problem.Their engineers designed a clear polycarbonate (same material as bullet proof glass) cap which allows you to see inside the top of the conical when it's fermenting. FLEX Leg Extension Set
Leg extensions are a great option to get th FLEX off the ground. Adjustable Thermometer
This Spike Brewing adjustable face dial thermometer can be orientated 360 degrees so reading the thermometer is easier. This 1/2” NPT Brew Thermometer is ready to screw directly into the kettle. This 2.5” stemmed thermometer can cover 40-220 degree ranges. The 3” glass dial will display all the information you need at a glance and while withstanding the high heat from the burner below. The Spike Mill - Home
Beer may be from The Middle Ages, but that doesn't mean your mill needs to look like it's from then, too. Designed with the help and expertise of Briess Malt, this grain mill was uniquely and specifically made so homebrewers and pro brewers alike could get the best and fastest grain crush on the market—and look cool doing it. The sleek, lightweight and compact design of the Spike Mill features an integrated motor, tool-less gap setting, optimal hopper size, cord wrap and (wait for it...) an integrated funnel for dust mitigation. The Spike Mill is the latest innovation coming out of the Spike Workshop. We mean it when we say our engi-nerds thought of everything. Here's a snapshot: Tool-less Gap Setting: Simply turn the dial to the gap setting you want. Integrated Motor: It's time to put the hand drill down. Offset Driven Rollers: The rollers are turned at different speeds (1.3:1) as this helps to shear the grain husk rather than crushing it and producing excess flour and dust. CIP Ball
Another cool innovation from the Spike Brewing engineers; their low pressure CIP ball! They wanted to design a CIP ball that didn’t require home brewers to purchase another pump if they already owned one. Small brewery pumps, like Chugger and March pumps used on our Spike System, are very common for most home brewers. However, most CIP balls require a much larger pump to work properly. This CIP ball was specifically designed to work with the more common 7GPM pumps. It has also been tested with larger sump pumps which are also commonly used for CIP applications. Spike Brewing also designed the CIP ball to fit through a 1.5" TC port. This allows for quick install of the CIP ball after fermentation. This works especially well with cleaning the temp control coil. They recommend a 5-10min CIP with 160F brewery wash to give a nice and shiny FLEX or conical fermenter. Pro Tip:If you do not have a FLEX+ lid with 1.5" TC port you can attach the CIP ball to the secondary port of your FLEX after an initial dump and rinse. Then simply CIP as described above!
